You know it. You're a BOSS when it comes to giving recommendations and telling all your friends where the best deals are and where you got those new boots for so cheap and where the best Sushi restaurant in town is. If any of your friends has ever, even just once, listened to your advice, then congratulations! Your in the right business.
The trouble is, if your not actually in business, it's not helping you out any, is it? So you're in the right business the wrong way.
Here are five reasons I realized with all my dreams of having time freedom, financial freedom, and just all-around be my own boss freedom that that I needed to get in the right business, the right way.
Here are the five reasons network marketing has changed my life, my family's life, and is THE BEST BUSINESS by far for the average person to get into.
1. You could be in a business that scales quickly and easily.
It can! We now have 440 people on our team as Sheena has gradually grown our business from a small group of customers to a outstanding super cool team! As more people share about dōTERRA with us it grows. It's that simple.
We love the product and tell people, who tell people, who tell people... and then those people tell people. The cool thing is, if the product was no good people would not be telling their friends. But it is, and that's why it's growing. End of story. So the liklihood of people wanting to buy natural health and wellness products is about as likely as every year millions of people wanting to upgrade their Apple phones. Ain't goin' to stop...
2. You could say goodbye to being an employee.
I am down with this. How much do you love your job? How much would you love to not have to go to your job? Ya, thought so. This is absolutely MY company, minus most the headaches of being MY company. I give classes when I want, I talk to people when I want, come up with advertising like I want, etc. Yet doTERRA is an entire billion dollar company that is already there with no need for me to figure out how to run. I just share about the oils and watch my company grow. I don't worry about "setting up" anything. Distribution, customer service numbers, supply, manufacturing, is NOT on my to do list.
3. You would have a HUGE market.
Let's see... Fitness, Health, and Wellness. Check. Ya, that's most the pupulation in our country. And it's only getting better! More than 20 million people (20.2) were involved in direct selling in the United States in 2015 (we haven't finished 2016 yet) with estimated retail sales reaching $36.12 billion- that's 3x the NFL yearly revenue. Do you think that in our hypersocial, super-connected, friendly-share everything age we are going to keep going to stores instead of our friends for the things we need? I don't think so....
4. It's easy to get started.
There's three possible scenarios I can imagine for someone starting out in our business.
It costs about $150 to start, and they would have a $100 repeating order every month. Now if they never enrolled anyone else and after a year they went down in a fiery, flaming, ball of glory- the end result would be $1350 out of pocket and a bunch of great product in their and home that helped them and their family out. The average startup cost for a small business is over $30,000. Not to shabby for a worst, worst case scenario.
In an OK scenario this person shares about dōTERRA and five people in the whole year get interested and enroll. Then the $100 a month is covered and they don't lose anything and they still get $100 month in great product to use at home.
Now in a great, but altogether very reachable, scenario this person is diligent, hardworking, and passionate about what they do and they share it often. If this happens, there is literally very little that can cap any type of upside potential. Plus we still have a lot of great product in their medicine cabinet and around the house!
5. You could be doing what you love.
That's (one of) my mottos. Do what you love. Simple as apple pie. I will have worked 8 months of this year in my "JOB". I will continue in 2017 to work 25 hours a week in my "JOB" as we build up this business. I took two months to go to Africa with my family of 5 for missions and my wife's midwifery work. We have paid off an adoption of $30,000 (of course with the amazing help and gifts of many amazing friends too -whoot whoot!) and are waiting on going to go get our son from Ghana, Africa.
Is it uphill? Heck yeah. It can be hard. But it is worth it. It's exciting to see people have significant changes in their life and know you are a part of making that happen. We love seeing people connect with natural ways to benefit the body and change their lifestyle, and then also go on to join in the business and see the fruits of their hard work when working for themselves. It's something worth waking up for!
This is what I love doing. Imagine doing more of what you love, when you want, how you want. Now that's life.
